Having sound delay on my tv?

just got my new hd, and im getting a half second or so sound delay. nothing extreme, but every now and then i really do notice it. i have a old tuner, cable box, and 360 all hooked up and each component works fine. is the slight delay normal or is the delay coming from doubling up a connecting somewhere? and i hear before i see witch to me is weird.. dont know....

  1. Audio digital processing is so much simple than the video processing that they can get out of sync. This is particularly true where you have a satellite receiver or cable set-top box. HDMI cables have a provision that allows for the synchronization of sound and video over the cable. Use of a HDMI cable between the cable set-top box and your TV often times elliminates this issue.
