Having trouble finding place in denver.....?

Question

Roommate and I are moving to Denver asap and all we lack is a place to rent. We're almost tempted to just rent a hotel till we find a place but it's hard doing this all the way from Oregon....and on a budget (we've got over $5000). Normally that would be enough but we're trying to survive here till we move. Any one have the knowledge or advice I don't? Thanks.

Have you been looking on www.craigslist.com, rent.com, or apartment.com

I would either come for a weekend and look for apartments.  Otherwise, move then stay in a cheap motel/hotel for a week and spend the week apartment hunting.  

I'm planning on moving to Denver as well....it seems like there are a lot of apartments available from the research I've been doing.
