Alright so I have a video camera and I have been trying to upload the videos that are on it to my computer for like a week, but I can't figure it out. It didn't come with a computer hook up so I have no idea how to do it, and it doesn't say anything in the manual.

The camera is a Hitachi DVD CAM.

It uses Maxell DVD-R 30 min cd's to record on. I tried putting it into the cd drive but it doesn't do anything.

Do I need to have a certain program or something? Please Please help!!

Thanks so much!

  1. You can try Cucusoft DVD and Video converters suite which includes Cucusoft Ultimate DVD and Video Converter Suite. It is the best all-in-one DVD and video conversion software converts DVDs and videos to play on almost any portable device including iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, video capable MP3 players, video capable mobile phones, and Pocket P.C., etc.

You can free download this software free from here:

Also, you can google some other software: http://www.google.com

  2. If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (I downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.

  3. You need a USB cable. There should be a place to put a USB in your camcorder and the computer. The Windows will ask you where to put the file.

If you don't have that, put the C.D. in the drive and click "My computer" then click whatever drive it's in. You should see files. If you do, on the left side of the "My computer" box there's a button saying to move to another folder. That will move all the files from your camera to another folder. You can also copy them to another folder(keeping them on the camera and computer).

If it doesn't work, try download a media card companion.

If that doesn't work, make sure the CD does have something on it and if it does, download a CD reader(alot of downloading )
