  1. Get on and stay on a budget.

  2. Queens do not need to save money.

  3. when you get paid, the first thing you have to do is set money off to the side to save. then put it in an account that is not as easily accessible as say, your checking account. get a savings account with no debit card and no checks, that way the only way to get money out of it will be to physically go to the bank. the more inconvenient you make it, the less likely you will go get it.

    but always pay yourself first.

  4. If you have enough to cover your monthly expenses then have at least 10-20% automatically taken from your paycheck and have it go into some kind of savings vehicle like 401k, mutual funds, cd's, etc... that way you will not spend it.

  5. What you don't see you soon forget about. What that means is for an easy beginning you should take a small portion out of your paycheck and have it deposited directly into a savings account. You will tend not to spend it if it's not available in your checking or cash in your wallet. Figure out how much you can take out of each paycheck every pay period. If you think there is nothing that you can take out of your paycheck then you might want to consider cutting back on extra curricular expenses. Even if they are small things IE: a cup of coffee, eating out less, having just a cell phone and removing your land line (home phone). Even if you can only put $20.00 in a month at least you are starting somewhere. Write down your budget and see what expenses you can trim and utilize that extra money to start a savings.  Also, if your company that you work for has a 401K that is another good way to invest and save since the company will usually match you dollar for dollar. It's hard at first to get yourself into the habit of saving but after awhile it will just become part of your routine. As you make more money continue to live the same life style and you can take your extra income and be able to deposit more into a savings. In a few years you'll be surprised at what you have saved. Just be careful not to allow yourself to spend your savings. Pretend it's not there and forget about it. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  6. Have the money taken directly out of your paycheck and put directly into a savings or investment account.  Preferably a 401k, a Roth IRA, a savings account; and better still all 3.

If you never "receive" it, you will be quite a bit less likely to spend it.

  7. get a really really hard piggy bank, and put in at lest $10 a week. now the only way ur going to get ur money is by breaking it. lol idk

  8. I used to have trouble saving money until I took a very close look at my situation and started to make some changes in my life, there might be some lifestyle changes, for me my most biggest thing was how much money I was spending on food, past several months I have made some lifestyle changes as far as what I eat, in the morning I have a bowl of cereal, during lunch time I go to the soup kitchen and then after work I snack on fruit, one thing leads to the next because I don't go to the fast food places anymore after work I don't spend the gas money to get to the fast food places and now am even saving money on gas, all of this that I been doing has been saving me $300 a paycheck, I have a goal in mind and that is to save up for a trailer house instead of renting a room from someone.

Lets go back to making some sort of lifestyle change, one thing you might want to do as a first step is if you are a disorganized person, go through and spend a day orgainizing everything and keeping things orgainzied, it does make a big time difference if you are well organized and anyone can learn to be organized, as the saying goes anyone can learn from the ant.

Also buy a notebook and keep track of where all your money is being spent and you may be able to see where you can do some cutbacks.

  9. here are some tips:

dont take too much money with you while your shopping you cant spend what you dont have

take to cans and put spend on one and save on the other and just to be safe put a lock on that u dont no the code to and only your mom or a frend u trust knows the code. put more in the save then spend then after a month or two spend ur saved money.

    keep your loose change

put some money in the bank

  10. I have a couple ideas, as I've been on my own for a while.  I find It's easier to break things down weekly.  $10.00 week is $40.00 Month.  or $20.00 out of by biweekly check.  Every three months I have $160. to spend, but I try to leave it alone for 6 months for for $320.00. Yearly that's $640.00.  If you can do more than $10.00 week that's great! I use this money for clothes, makeup, entertainment, trips. It helps me seperate this out from my living expenses.  I don't use it for necessities. This $20.00 comes right out of my paycheck direct deposited to a separate savings account.  I think it took like $25.00 to open.

I have another separate savings account for emergency purposes for car repairs, insurance, one months rent....I put 1//2 my tax returns in it each year and don't touch it.

I feel secure that I have these accounts separate from my checking which I use for my living expenses, gas, food, rent, other.

I hope you like my answer.  It takes some time to get used to not touching the money in there so you have to have some willpower.  Good luck!  Rae.

  11. you should really give us some information about your situation :\

  12. have ur guardian hold onto it and tell him/her not to give it to you until you reachg ur money goal.

  13. a lot of banks have like a christmas account or something like that where a set amount is put into a different account attached to your savings account each week and you cannot touch it until a certain date that works well for me

  14. Th easiest way to save money is to budget.  Know how much you make monthly, calculate your bills, and give yourself a certain amount that you can spend each month on extras (movies, dining out, clothes, etc.).  Set a goal about how much you would like to save monthly.
