Having trouble seeing at night?

I've been having problems seeing at night, like when something is really far away. But i see fine in the daytime when somethings far away. Whats the problem? I dont have glasses or contacts.

  1. i have bad night vision. i don't know why but i starred incase someone else knows


  2. At night the light is focused on different elements in the retina so that while everything is clear in daylight, vision can be slightly blurry at night.  Also you pupils are larger at night.  

    If I were there with you I would pull out a -.25 D lens and hold it over one eye or one over each eye while you looked in the distance.  If thing became clearer then it gives us some information.

    You are probably slightly myopic; that is, you would take a low minus correction.

    You might need it or not; but if your VA is less than 20/20 and can be corrected to 20/20 or better, you may want to have glasses prepared for use at night.  If they clear up movies and things like that, then glasses are needed for those purposes.  All of this should be under the direction of an Ophthalmologist or an Optometrist.  He will probably tell you when to wear them.
