Question:

Having trouble seeing with contact lenses but not with my glasses.?

I have had contacts for over 2 years and rarely wear my glasses. About a month or two ago i got sick with a bad headache for about a week and switched to my glasses. After that week I went back to contacts. The next time i put contacts in i couldn't see nearly as good as I used to be able to. Far away objects get blurry and i cant see as sharply and clearly as before. The contacts are from a new box. I'm due for my yearly check up in a month but I would like to know if it is my eyes or could it be a defective box of contacts? It came on very suddenly and I still have perfect vision with my glasses which have the same prescription lenses.

  1. You could try contacts from a different box.  Maybe just make your appointment early.  I assume that you have made sure that you have the correct (R & L) in the correct eye.

  2. When I bought my glasses and contacts, they told me that no matter what you will be able to see better out of glasses then contacts.

so since you weren't use to wearing your glasses, you didn't see the change. Your eyes got use to the glasses, and then when you put the contacts on...it was like you put on an older pair of glasses.  That is why things are so blurry...

  3. It probably is a problem with the new box of lenses. I once received a box that had the wrong prescription. Either way, you'll know when you get your next exam.
