  1. hello. I have NO idea who you are. My only recommendation is, take it easy on yourself. Your chording fingers WILL ache until you develop the proper callouses. You cannot WILL not become a Jimmy Page or Jimi Hendrix quickly. enjoy your moments. : } Me? I played a Yamaha 6 string, steel strings. I have 'chosen' to play piano instead. good luck

  2. When you strum, it's not a very hard strum, and it's not a very light strum, it's in between, just enough to give you a crisp sound.  I find using a pick is the easiest way to go.  A main strumming pattern people use is down, down, up, up down and the restart it again.  Down, down, up, up, down, down, down, up, up, down.  Practice this strumming, then try adding is some chords.  I used to have problems to, but practice makes perfect.  Have fun.

  3. First, strumming sounds like c**p, so don't do it. When you make a chord, you already have most of the notes you will need to dance around the melody. Don't play the melody, as that steps on the singer, which is probably yourself much of the time. Additional needed notes are nearby, and easy to arrange access to. Again, DON'T STRUM! Musical production depends upon harmony between all the participants, from the lead guitarist to the bouncer at the door. It all either works together in harmony, or it doesn't. Everyone has their part of it, or they don't. Regards, Larry.
