  1. Mine was doing this yesterday!  I got so annoyed i left it in the end, but its fine today! :)

  2. Ancestry provide a 'viewer' that you can download. I'm guessing that you have done this and it's the viewer software that has a problem. Suggest you download a fresh copy of the viewer.

Alternatively you can right click on your mouse and save the image to your PC. You can then use your PC's image viewing software to magnify it.

  3. I think that it must be a problem with ancestry.com/.co.uk I have had the same problem since last night, it's really annoying me as I am working on something for a yahoo user and it's holding me up.

  4. Hi,

I was having problems with Ancestry last week, and actually telephoned them to try and find out what was going on. In particular I have freezing sometimes too, and when I click on the view image of census there was nothing there. They blamed some ISP's in the UK, but the problem became clear on Saturday. It was obvious to me that whilst we have been trying to view their census returns on the UK site they had been re-vamping their site. They now have a new format of showing their search pages, and showing the census images. It was very easy to open these on Saturday.

Why Ancestry don't announce what they are up to is beyond me, it would save a heck of a lot of hassle and frustration on members part, not to mention waste of time and money. I believe they should do a part refund for the inconvenience.

I hope that yours is OK now. Just a thought that If your PC still freezes when trying to get the images etc, you could use an anti spyware programme:ie: ad-aware to get rid of gremlins, and get rid of all your temporary internet cookies.
