Question:

Having trouble with Baby Think It Over...?

He doesn't respond to any of the methods: baby bottle, diaper change, rocking, burping, etc.

We watched a video that showed that the babies cry for 2-3 minutes but respond to the methods. My baby takes 8-10 minutes and doesn't respond until the 3rd of 4th try of each of the methods....

I am getting frustrated because I know I can handle a baby simulator but this one is grumpy all the time, 24/7, not like a real baby.

I am supposed to have this baby til 9/6.....I think I am in trouble......not to mention my parents are already done with this baby's nonstop antics

ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!

  1. Baby think it over can be programmed to be colicky or mimic a baby that has been exposed to illegal substances prior to birth.

Your teacher may have decided to test you a bit more and give you a more difficult infant.

And, real babies can be grumpy 24/7 as well.  Don't be disillusioned.  Real babies also cry longer than 2-10 minutes and often don't respond to your tactics until the 3rd or 4th try as well.  It sounds to me like you're getting a fairly realistic idea of what parenthood is like.  Good luck.

P.S.  You can also mention the issue to your teacher to see if perhaps the doll is defective.

  2. I have never had baby think it over but I do have a 5 month old.......and let me tell you.....sometimes its an hour of crankiness so maybe this is good for ya to really think it over!  8-10 minutes is nothing.  She went through times of being cranky for 3 or more hours with nothign helping!!  Babies are a lot of work and def have a mind of their own!

    Good luck!

  3. Maybe it has flat batteries or something. ps not all real babies respond to the methods listed either. Sometimes they are just cranky cause they can be

  4. lol-i'm 29 and I can still remember taking my doll home with me!! I had her all weekend and drove my parents absolutely crazy. I remember taking her to sunday school  at church with me and there was this boy that was fascinated with her-he held her the entire session until she cried (lol)!!

you're baby may have been programmed by your teacher to be fussier than most. this is my guess since the baby finally does respond to something after a few tries.

if I remember correctly-it has two lights on the back. one for neglect and one for abuse and if either one is flashing when you return it-your grade gets affected. try talking to your teacher if either one of your lights is flashing-your baby might be defective.

on the final night I had my baby-my mom got fed up and made me sleep in our minivan in the garage. my baby cried in the middle of the night and due to no lighting, I couldn't see the slot to put the feeding probe in her and my light started flashing. I explained the situation to my teacher (who actually called my parents telling them it was somewhat abusive to put me in the garage and threatened to report them) and she gave me a perfect grade.

good luck and talk with your teacher!!

  5. They have sensor's in them, so they can tell if your rocking it ,holding it etc...with a negative force just like real babies can. Try to be calm you pick, rock or hold the baby. good luck.
