Having trouble with a new gas tank that Ive installed on my Xr650l.?

Xr650l I recently changed the gas tank on it and now when I bring it to an Idle it stalls, I had to retube everything to make it fit well and I also noticed there is a .25 in of slack in my throttle cable. Any Ideas?

Here's what I think you've done because I've done it on my XR650R. When you put the new tank on you didn't route your throttle cable exactly as it was. Take the tank off and route the cable in the original position and your problems should be solved. Email me anytime you like. I'm a 650 guru.
