Having trouble with a rca lyra mp3 player

Question

this specific mp3 player come with a rca 5 disc changer radio mp3 player combo. my friend ask me to put songs on the mp3 player. the songs have been added but i cqannot listen to them. when i turn the player on it says rca 49 songs then goes to a blank screen with the number 01 then when u hit play it goes to number 02 then continues to 20. it also has a p in a square? how can i get it off program mode/
