  1. Wear Your Self Out Thru Out The Day, And Go To Bed Early. What I Do When I Cant Sleep I Listen To My Ipod Until I Fall Asleep.

  2. First, go to bed a little earlier each night, like only 10 or 15 mins. earlier.

On Friday and Saturday nights, don't stay up more than an hour later than on school nights. (Yeah, I know - just do it!)

Don't drink colas or chocolate or coffee.

Be sure to exercise daily - get off the computer and on your bike, kiddo!

Try this for a week or two, and if you still have problems, email me - I work with this sort of thing.

  3. Its all about slowly winding down.  First, stop eating about 3 hours before you go to sleep. Don't watch tv or surf the net or be exposed to excess light because that might keep you awake longer.  Also, take about 30 min before you go to sleep to do something calming like listening to music or reading a book so that you don't focus on the day and stress out about things.  Good Luck!

  4. Try to make yourself go to bed. Turn off everything and all distractions. Listen to calming music. Take medicine.

  5. Its probally stress from just starting a new school year! Or maybe over the summer you went to bed really late and slept in till like 1 pm....its hard to get back into the school routine. Try buying some aromatherapy spray for your pillow that is meant to calm you down and help you sleep. Dont drink alot of caffeine after 7 o'clock ( no pop, coffee, candy )

    Hope this helps!

  6. Don't lay down in the bed until you are very sleepy.  Try reading, watching a movie, and finding ways to relax.

You can also take Valerian Root Extract capsules to make you sleepy and relaxed.  The best ones are available at "The Vitamin Shop"

The worst thing you can do is try to force yourself to go to bed when you are not even sleepy..........

Put some headphones on and listen to sounds of the Ocean and read an easy reading book................

  7. count numbers from 1 to 100. that will make you get bored and fell sleep.

    I do that when i can't sleep

  8. happens to me all the time. i just think about something and then start dreaming. sometimes i think about a song too. it helps a little. im goin into 8th btw.

  9. OMG. I have the same problem, and I don't know what to do about.

    Just saying :)

  10. Try doing some yoga its very relaxing.

  11. its ok dont worry i had the same thing try reading this article helped me out alot http://www.to-done.com/2006/01/tips-for-...

    hope it helps

  12. I have the same problem. Last night I fell asleep close to 3 am.

I feel that the more stressed out I am the harder it is for me rest.

Also doing exercise at some point during the day helps. It has to be calorie burning, sweat inducing workouts though.

  13. It depends on the reasons you can't fall asleep. Try 1st limit intake of caffeine to before 5 p.m. You could also try a sleep blend from a health food store. A good one should have Valerian root (it helps you relax) and Melatonin (sleep hormone). My problem is that my brain does not shut down. I will think about everything from a shopping list to what is on tv tomorrow. If you are thad bad you may need to go to your doc. I am on Temazapam 30 mg taken 30 to 45 min before bed. It is not like a sleeping pill so it doesn't knock you out. It is like Xanax and chills you out. It stays in your system longer than Xanax. I have been a life long insomniac. This really works for me.

  14. i am the same way sometimes and its really hard to pay attention when i am tired....before you go to bed try not to watch tv or get on the computer because the lights do something to your eyes that will make you awake and not tired....also try not to sleep  during the day...sometimes i fall asleep when i am doing my homework and then when it is time to go to be i am not tired....hope that helps.....

  15. If possible try to make time to wind down at the end of the day.  Make time just before bed to do low level activities (such as reading a book or relaxing music).

Try to make sure you take of what you need to during the day, don't procrastinate (that can cause stress) on stuff you know you should be taking care of.

Try to go to bed close to the same time every night if possible.

Try to get a minimum of 7 hours of sleep if possible.

After you turn out the light, try to relax your breathing.  Try to take long slow breaths.  Try not to think about anything specific or try to think of stuff that makes you feel happy.

Try to have a quiet room if possible or some people like "white noise" such as quiet sound generator (sounds like a waterfall or ocean surf) or fan, maybe?

Older people may commonly suffer from sleep apnia, but you sound younger, so that probably isn't usually the cause at a young age.

  16. There are many factors that lead to insomnia, the unintentional loss of sleep. Fortunately, there are many ways to fix this problem:

*Try not to eat anything right before you go to bed; your body tries to break down foods after they enter the body, which causes the release of energy, the one thing you don't want when you're about to sleep.

*Do something productive before you go to bed, this can be anything from doing laundry to exercise.  This will help your body to expend all of its energy and prepare for relaxation.

*Music can be a great method for relaxation.  Try putting on some classical music or something soft during bedtime.

*CLEAR YOUR MIND! I cannot stress this enough.  The one thing that most people have trouble doing is this part.  You don't want to be thinking about whether you did all of your homework and the consequences of not doing your homework when you are trying to sleep.

If you still have problems with sleeping, then I suggest you consult a doctor and ask for their opinion.  They may put you on a sleep-inducing drug like Ambien or Lunesta.  I hope this helps.
