Havre de Grace training well at Keeneland for her next start in the Breeders’ Cup Classic
The 4-year-old filly, Havre de Grace is currently present at Keeneland, where she is training for her next start in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on 5 November, 2011, according to sources the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes winner is settling well at Keeneland, thanks to her easy going nature.
According to trainer Larry Jones, the filly doesn’t care where she sleeps whether its Saratoga, Delaware or Keeneland, her home is where her feed tub is.
Havre de Grace is training well on the Keeneland Poly Track, and her versatility to adapt at any surface is making things easy for her connections.
Havre de Grace is listed to race on two races, the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic , which is run over a distance of 1 1/8 miles and will be held on 4 November, 2011, and the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic run at about 1 ¼ miles where she will face familiar runners who competed against her in the Woodward Stakes.
The daughter of Saint Liam, out of Easter Bunnette by Carson City, Havre de Grace has had an exceptional 2011 season 5 wins out of 6 starts and turned in a runner up position in the Grade 2 Delaware Handicap where she got beat by her bitter rival Blind Luck.
Havre de Grace is coming off a win in the Grade 1 Beldame Stakes on dirt at about 1 1/8 miles on 1 October, 2011, where she defeated the ever so dangerous Royal Delta and Satans Quick Chick, who finished second and third respectively, with the winning time of 1 minute and 49.39 seconds.
This season Havre de Grace has done which very few and special females have done, she went on to defeat males in the Grade 1 Woodward Stakes over at 1 1/8 miles on 3 September, 2011, where she defeated Flat Out and Rule with the winning time of 1 minute and 49.18 seconds.
According to trainers Larry Jones, her tank is bank on full and she is ready to go anytime.
