  1. Japanese people don't do tips. Don't leave a tip. If you must, then put the money in a small envelope and hand it directly to one of the staff.

  2. gfdsgfj

  3. always tip the waitress and the sushi chef separately :) sometimes the tip left on the table or whatever is evenly split by both parties, so you may want to ask the waitress if this is how it's done... if so, leave a big big tip.

be careful not to disrepect and hurt the pride of the sushi chef by leaving not enough money.

  4. ok, this is like the millionth tipping question that asked the same thing.  you do NOT have to tip the proprietor of an establishment. so, first ascertain whether the server and/or chef own the place. in the best (i.e., small) Japanese restaurants, this is usually the case.  next, if you like the service provided by an employee, leave them 15% of the check.  if they went out of their way for you, or if the place is really posh, i.e., you were served by MORE THAN ONE person, leave 20%.  it's not that hard.

  5. if you sit at the bar and are only atennded by sushi chef just tip him i usualy go 20 25% i get better service. if you have a server and chef 15 to chef 10 to server

  6. why dont you want to keep the money to yourself. you be much richer?? i dont know why people do tips.
