Hawaii Rainbow Warriors 12 - 0 versus Notre Dame 3 - 9?

Question

Just asking so don't take it personal. I'm reading the online news stories and I saw that Hawaii didn't receive a point in one of the 2008 preseason polls. I guess it's because they have lost all 4 wide receivers and the best qb in their history. No offense Timmy Chang. Colt was a better quarterback! My question is how would Notre Dame have fared against a Hawaii team from 2007 that went 12 - 0 if they had played? I think it would have been a good fight but I want to know what you think? Thanks!

I think it would have been a 28 - 14 win either way. Notre Dame would either win by running or defensive turnovers turned into td's. Hawaii would win by throwing against ND's defense in the 4th to pull it out.

Notre Dame played some pretty good teams and I think they had experience playing solid opponents. Hawaii (well .. you know who they played and how it turned out in the Sugar Bowl!) would have to survive a strong running game early on just like the game against the Washington Huskies.

Im a huge notre dame fan, but I would have to admit that Hawaii would definetly beat the Irish last year. As for getting more votes in the pre-season, as you said Hawaii lost alot of talent. Notre Dame also had another top 5 recruiting class and alot of returning talent this year. I expect with an easier schedule they should make it at least into a bowl game. If not Weis is gone.

Hawaii would have beat Notre Dame last year. The Yahoo Answers Football Section team would have beat Notre Dame last year. After what 56 years Navy beat Notre Dame last year. Notre Dame would have been better off as a Mid-Major last year, although then they would have likely broke even at best.

Yeah Hawaii could have beaten Notre Dame. They beat a lot of c**p teams last year. When they finally played a good team they got smoked.
