What's the standard like does anyone know. I'm from Ireland and love baseball but have never been to a game. I'm going to go to an MLB games next summer but as I'm going to be in Hawaii this November when the HWL is on I was thinking of taking in a game to get my fix until next summer and was wondering is it worth seeing?

  1. I'm sure it's changed since I saw a game in 1994, but it's probably still worth seeing.  Most players come from high-A ball, with some low-A and an occasional AA player mixed in.  There are also quite a few Japanese players of the same caliber in the league.

    There are only four teams in the league now, all playing in Waipahu, Oahu, near Pearl Harbor.  Season starts 9/27.

    Here's a website;

    Here's an MLB article on the top 15 prospects from last years league.

    The league shut down after 1997 and didn't restart again until 2006.

    Some of the alumni from the original league include Jason Giambi, Ichiro Suzuki, and Todd Helton.  More recently, Joba Chamberlain pitched in the league.

    I still have my Maui Stingrays t-shirt and a Kauai Emeralds cap.
