Hawaii????

Question

What comes to mind when you think of "Hawaii?"

dirty young s****s on spring break that think just because they are in an other state and on vacation that they have an ethical right to be dirty s****s

I think of superficial people that think being tanned makes them sexier, who spend hours in the sun getting tanned only for a select type of guy, allowing themselves to prematurely age and receive sun damage... so that they will be ugly when they are older... and so that they wont be as pale as some guys like it now.

Aside from that, I think of conquering the native tribes and annexing another state.

I think of the fact that Japanese tourists plus Japanese immigrants outnumber any and every other ethnicity there - including the native Hawai'ians.

I think of Pearl Harbor, WWII

I think of nice beaches and wildlife being overrun and demolished by human development...  to give "civilized" people more incentive to come to Hawaii... who rationalize going to Hawaii as wanting to experience the "natural beauty"

And beach bums

And outrageous prices

And outrageous cost of living

I think of Isolation from the mainland (any mainland)... and thus boredom!  You can only do the same touristy things so many times before its old and your pocket books are empty.  

Isolation makes earthquake, tsunami, and other freak natural disasters more difficult to aid in.  While youre drowning on the third floor of a hotel, they are only starting to muster up the national guard in Wisconsin

The sandy beaches and the clear water I snorkeled in. Next, it is the food and the palm trees.

nice beaches , clear water , tanned girls with black hair and tanned skin , honolulu , a state of usa, mauna kea and mauna loa , pacific ocean ...      a dream :)
