  1. i'm putting a link to a garden site that says some stuff about this plant, i also found some info that i'm pasting below, on a site that sells these plants. they prolly make it sound easier than it might really be, but this is what they said...good luck, looks like a lovely plant!!

These exotic plants thrive in any home and make excellent house, dormitory or office plants! Proper name: Tillandsia cyanea CARE IS EASY!! Water once or twice a week depending on conditions. . They are perfect plant rental units or decorative pieces for homes and watergardens. Place them in a bright window, and just keep moist. Fertilize monthly with 1/4 strength of a good quality soluble fertilizer found at your local home and garden shop. Tillandsia cyanea (sy-a'nee-a): Native to the forest of Ecuador, where it grows on tops of trees or shrubs. Considered one of the most desirable members of the genus for cultivation because of its compact form and brilliant, long-lasting inflorescence. From forty to sixty thin, grass-like leaves, 1 to 1-1/2 feet long, form a graceful rosette. The leaves are vertically striped with brown on the back toward the base. The inflorescence, a fan-shaped head, 4 to 6 inches long, 2 inches wide, and comparatively thin, is of the brightest rose. The large, brilliant blue flowers emerge singly or in pairs along the spike. Culture: Tillandsia cyanea, also known as Pink Quill, do best in bright indirect sunlight. They need medium temperatures of 50 to 65 degrees at night and day temperatures of 68 degrees or higher.
