Hawaiiwan "cyber school"s????

i live in hawaii and am considering home-schooling my 13-year-old. please dont answer just to say her social skills will suffer. i was wondering if anyone out here knew about any on-line tutering or home-schooling options for Hawaii? i was recomended K12 but they dont have my island (oahu)...

  1. Yes they have lots of computers. You can even ask ordianry school teachers they'll tell you. search it on you places best search engine cause in Canada it's google

    http://ethompson.org/ is, I believe, Hawaii's free online school.

    ADDED: What do you mean by ethompson didn't work out? They won't accept you? That is, to be honest, the only free online school I could find. The other one, if you sign up for the fall, I imagine, is very cheap: http://hawaiivirtualschool.com/index.php... And no, there is no national cyber school--each state has its own curriculum, which is why it's left to the state, or even sometimes district.

    Thought of one other place: Connections Academy. They're looking at getting a school going in Hawaii. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hawaii_con...

    If you're needing something right away, I don't think you'll find it. However, there's nothing stopping you from pulling her from school and finding some free resources online or library books to finish off the year.
