Hay, how to mermaids reproduce?

I need it for my science report, (We're on underwater reproduction.) It's going to be due in a month or two, and maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but I tried, and even google comes up with nothing! when I ask people around the house, they look at my funny... Someone help me here, please!

When you asked people and they looked at you funny, that's because mermaids don't exist.  They're fictional characters.

Why would this be for a school project? Mermaids are mythical creatures. But I'm guessing that since their bottom half is of a fish, they lay eggs.

Mermaids reproduce like any other fish!!!  But first you have to find one to make sure and that will require research.  And since no one has so far in the whole world has seen a mermaid to do that , maybe you can be the first one!  Until then I suggest you find a subject a little more easier.  Like a water horse.   Plenty about him on the sites I bet.

um they've never  been recorded doing anything*cough*they dont exist*cough*

they reproduce like all other fish the do a courtship dance and the girl lays her mer eggs at the surface and the male splurts out "fertilizer" and they grow then the eggs are nurtured til they hatchand take their first breath at the surface.

they then feed on mer-milk till their weened.
