Hay List – Another talented stallion from Australia
Whenever anyone talks about horseracing in Australia, one name comes to mind, and that is Black Caviar. However, there is another strong runner from the same country, who has been delivering some strong results since the start of his career.
His name is Hay List and he is one of the most dominant stallions of the modern era. Although, his record is not as good as Black Caviar, yet he has the ability to fight for victories with consistency.
Both these Aussie runners have raced against each other on quite a few occasions, but the result has never been in favour of Hay List, who has got a terrific strike rate. He has participated in a total of 14 events, winning seven of them whereas finished
as a runner up on five times, which shows the level of consistency he performs with.
There have been only a couple of occasions, where the talented gelding failed to finish amongst the top-three. The first time this happened was on his debut, when he was considered as the outright favourite to succeed. He disappointed his fans back then
and ended up in sixth place.
This was the only outing for the John McNair’s trainee during the 2009 season and he was rested for quite a few months afterwards, as he required some training to deliver at the highest level.
The hard work paid off for Statue Of Liberty’s son, as he started the 2010 season on a high. He managed to win four back-to-back events, showing what he was capable of achieving. However, he was unable to make a strong impression in his last outing of that
year, finishing sixth overall.
Since then, the seven-year-old runner has been delivering some terrific results for his team. He has not dropped out of the top-two after his last race in 2010. His performances in the current season have been really good and will be looking to end the year
on a high, if his team gives him a chance in any major event.
However, the main target for Hay List will be to overcome Black Caviar once in his career. He is still very young and will get a few chances in the future to accomplish his goals.
