Hay List claims the Challenge Stakes, Group 2 event – Horse Racing Update
The Group 2 Challenge Stakes that took place on Sunday at the Warwick Farm greatly intrigued the fans of the sport and all those involved in the horse business, as the racehorse Hay List took a spectacular victory. The race took place over a distance of
5 furlongs over a turf surface and was open to racehorses of age three and above. Top sprinter Hay List trains under the care of John McNair was ridden by the famed jockey Glyn Schofield in the Challenge Stakes that carried prize money of 175,000 Australian
dollars.
Hay List is ranked as the second best sprinter, the top being the filly Black Caviar. All those who were there watching the race including the fans and critics of the sport saw the racehorse stretch to his limit. As his jockey said after the race has ended
that this was the most the colt could stretch, as there was no more space at all for him to stretch any more than this.
The two most prominent contenders of this race were the racehorses Hay List and the international sprinter Keen Commander. There was a fierce battle between the two to claim the event, as both of them struggled and strived to finish the race in the first
spot. In the end, Hay List was the winner of the race, as Keen Commander could only bag the second position. On the other hand, the third place was claimed by the filly Solar Charged.
In a post race interview, the delighted jockey of the winner racehorse said that it was fortunate for him and his trainee that Keen Commander was not able to hold Hay List off otherwise it would have been a bad day for him and Hay List.
After this spectacular victory, the racehorse will have to work even harder to defeat the best sprinter, Black Caviar. The two top sprinters will be seen competing against each other in the TJ Smith Stakes that has been scheduled to take place on 9
April.
