  1. Yes, because they are reflections and glares of light off the camera lens.

  2. they show  up in photos around my house and when we go ghost hunting in cemeteries.  also i just saw on from a friend that had a smiley face in it when it was enlarged.  some of them have faces and symetrical designs in them.

  3. I do believe in the existence of orbs. I make no claim to knowing what they are. I do however, disagree with those who say they are caused by reflections, drops of moisture, dust, or film problems.

Several friends of mine decided to experiment with this phenomena. We used DIGITAL cameras, hence there were no "film" problems. We went out into the country, away from all light, and just took a bunch of photos of each other, and our car. After downloading those images to our computer, nothing special was found .

Using the same camera, we then went to a very old graveyard, again out in the country, and away from lights. We photographed headstones, each other, and our car again. We expected to get the same results as before. To our amazement, these photos ALL had orbs, and some showed wisps of smoky light in them. The orbs were seen coming out of the ground, around the car, and swirling around the people. Most of the orbs appeared to have tails, like a comet, or meteor. Other photos had clouds of swirling smoke. It would appear around. and behind people's heads, or as a stream of smoke alongside people.

We shot all photos with the same settings, (night, high resolution, no timed exposures), the same camera, and by the same photographer. The orbs and smoke were not visible to our naked eyes, nor were they visible when we looked at the images on the small screen of the camera. Once we started to examine them on the computer screen, and began blowing them up, things were much different. To this day, we have no explanation for these images. We have not tried to repeat the experiment, because it left each of us a little freaked out.

As to those who "see" these type of things, I guess that they just may be much more sensitive, or perceptive to things that "normal" people overlook. I tend to think that these type of things exist in other dimensions outside of the four (height, length, depth, and time) that we all perceive. Quantum physics is now proposing theories, that there are at least ten dimensions. I think ghosts, spirits, souls, demons, and most all of the unexplained, operate in those other dimensions. I think that these things are only perceived by us, when they cross over to, or pass through our four dimensions.

To those who talk to the orbs, and hear their answers, and "know" that they are extraterrestrials, please talk to your doctor, and have him increase the dosage of your medications.

  4. As a professional photographer, I can tell you these are not desirable.

Orbs is a flaw with point and shoot cameras, because the flash is too close to the lens. Any dust or moisture near the lens is illuminated by the flash and reflected right back into the lens.

Normally the lens wouldnt pick up very small particles like that, except the angle of the flash makes them appear like orbs.

Its impossible to pick up orbs if you have a lens hood on your camera.

I dont think its a matter of belief in orbs, they exist. Camera makers try to develop cameras that wont pick up orbs. its a matter of recognizing that there is nothing supernatural about them.

  5. Nope, not in the paranormal anyway.

  6. Anybody who is familiar with photographic anomalies knows what they are.  Lens flare, film exposed because of a light leak, something on the lens, uneven processing, smudges on the print paper before developing, reflections of light on surfaces in the picture.

With all of these "orbs" being indistinguishable from the effects I just listed, then why, oh why do people rush to the most absurd explanation they can?

  7. I thought it was moisture on the lens.

  8. I do believe in Orbs and have concluded my opinion after years of research and posted an opinionated paper on the subject which is posted on my 360 blog for people to read.

With all of the conflicting opinions that seem to spark a lot of hate on the paranormal category I felt it best to post my opinion in a more controlled environment, as not to offend those who do not believe in the paranormal world.

  9. Yes I do believe in them.  My experience was that my mom took a picture (w/ the lights on) and orbs showed up.

  10. actually, they are dust particles in the air. We did an experiment, in the attic, kicked up some dust as we shot film, guess what? lot's of orbs till the dust settled.

  11. Do I believe they exist?  Yes.

Do I know what they are?  No.

My security camera captures them on tape frequently at night.  I'm in a rural area, and this can and often does occur when there's no light to be reflected from the camera lens.

I'd be denying the reality of those security tapes if I disbelieved the reality of them.

And I'd be lying to suggest I have a clue what they are.

I'll add, they behave in some erratic, unpredictable, unrepeated ways.  Almost never the same.

  12. yes.someone taking the picture has helped create the problem/

  13. Orbs are a form of energy of an unknown origin, although they're thought by many paranormal researchers to be basic spirit forms. They are rarely seen with the human eye, but they can be viewed with night- vision equipment and recorded with photographic equipment.

Unfortunately, while orbs can be photographed, they're also the most easily represented by false positives. In other words, there are a lot of things out there that will present orb-like objects in photos. In fact, the majority of the orb photos on the Internet today are incorrectly called so because most folks can't tell the difference between false "orbs" and the real thing.

True spirit orbs are just what the name implies – orbs. They're round and three-dimensional. They have shape and substance, and many contain a "nucleus" of sorts. If the object in the photograph being analyzed is flat, flat on one side or angular, it's more than likely the result of a reflection or lens flare.

When I tell someone their photo only contains reflective "orbs," they usually respond by telling me there was nothing reflective in the vicinity because they didn't see anything shiny when they took the photo. What most folks fail to realize is that a flash will reflect off objects most of us wouldn't normally take notice of, such as bugs, dust, pollen and moisture droplets, just to name a few.

Also, the angle of the light entering your camera can cause a reflection on the camera's own internal mirrors – sort of a rough definition of lens flare.

Because orbs are so easily misunderstood and misrepresented, orb photos should never be accepted as evidence of a haunting or paranormal event.

  14. Hello Angel.Yes I do believe in Orbs. Do you know what they are? They are the emanations of souls that dwell in higher spheres of  intelligence. They can be Guides, White Brethren,or higher beings. They show themselves to us as orbs of light. Not only in photos, but in all manner of places. My Guide Dr. Chang tells me they can also be extraterrestrial in origin. The only way Aliens can present themselves to us.I see them quite a bit, and sometimes they communicate.
