  1. frankly, it wont make a difference to the result cos honestly even the Redbacks should beat Bangaldesh 3-0, i think it must be looked at as a positive that these players arent there, cos it gives guys like Shaun Marsh, David Hussey and Brett Geeves (tho i would like to know why Noffke was not considered, so if anyone knows, please inform me) further oportunites to further they're careers, while also giving Clarke a chance to further gain more experience as Captain, which will stand him in good stead for when he becomes test captain

  2. While i agree that Australia will probably whitewash the series. I do not believe that it will be as easy as many people think. A great case of this is this example below.

Australia vs Bangladesh- Cardiff 18th June-2005

    Australia-249-5

    Bangladesh- 250-5

    Bangladesh won by 5 wickets.

Any team with Mohammad Ashraful has got to be taken with an ounce of caution. Australia will be too good but expect some shocks and surprises along the way

  3. I doubt it'll make much difference to the series, although Bangladesh will hopefully put up a fight. They've improved in the one day game, but are very inconsistent. For Australia, it gives them the chance to see what their future team will be like. Ponting and Lee aren't going to be around forever, and I thought (well, probably hoped, being a Pom 'n' all... ;)) Hayden would retire when Gilchrist did.

Australia should use this as an opportunity really, since there's no Champions Trophy.

  4. India had sent a very young team to Bagladesh and they won. It is a policy too not to send seniors.

So Australia will not need any big names either. It will make no "difference to the end result". They will still win.

  5. gud luck for bangladesh...

  6. its not a good news

  7. it will not matter to the result at all ! even Australia A can sweep this series comprehensively however October clashes will be as tough as chewing iron, Mathew is required in India for that series !

    hope this helps!

    god bless!

  8. i don't know how long hes had this Injury,, but an Achilles injury will take along time ,cos of all the forces involved in that area.. .plus hes not going to be fit cos he cant train at the same level while his injury is healing

    .

  9. Since he hasn't sufficiently recovered from his injury it's probably a good thing to sit this one out if he wants to prolong his Test career. He's getting older so injuries don't heal as fast as they do when you're younger. I thought he was winding down his ODI career anyway so it'll give the younger guys an opportunity to have a few more games.

I doubt Hayden not playing will have much (if any) effect on the series (it won't make much of a difference who plays really) or make any difference to the end result, I still expect Australia to get a convincing series win. And Australia are still a strong side without their 'big name' players like Hayden, Lee and Ponting. Bangladesh are very inconsistent, their ODI game is improving but they lack stability and don't capitalize on their opportunities when they get ahead. But I hope they make a game of it though, Bangladesh can be an okay side when they put their minds to it.

  10. Bangladesh on their day can surprise anyone; they are getting better at limited overs cricket (ask India).

Australia should not under-estimate Bangladesh. Remember the under-prepared Australian side that lost to Bangladesh in 2005? And with Australia missing three top players, the result could be closer than we expect.

I would still expect Australia to win, but I would hope that Bangladesh make a contest of it. They may even sneak a win in at least one game!

As for Hayden's recovery: He is in the twilight of his career, and has got a potentially career ending injury. He may have to give up ODI cricket if he wants to continue playing Test matches for the next two or three years.

  11. Hayden missed out...

But Australia will run all over Bangladesh.

  12. Nope, won't make a difference to the end result and if it does it'll go down in the history books.

A team like Australia should not be playing against a team like Bangladesh, total opposites on the scale really, but hopefully it will be a good series for both teams.

  13. It won't make any difference to the series. Hayden has had a run of injuries and this is just another one. He's no longer a spring chicken and I think an Achilles injury will take time to heal properly. Don't be surprised  if Hayden does not play in the summer.

  14. This may be a little ironic but its great news for Australia. They can now test out their other players who wouldn't have gotten a chance. It will be good learning experience for them. Also it dosen't matter what team you send to play Bangladesh.
