Hayes Johnson and Madison Wenzler clinch Men’s events: Day Three – 2011 Texas Senior Circuit

Hayes Johnson and Madison Wenzler clinched titles in the Men’s events on day three of the 2011 Texas Senior Circuit. Johnson won the crown in the Men’s 400m Individual Medley (IM), while Wenzler stood on the podium for the gold medal of the 50m back-stroke
meet.
In the 400m IM, UN-ST’s Johnson was the fastest swimmer to touch the finishing wall, as he won the gold medal of the event in a time of 4 minutes and 26.18 seconds. He was followed by TY L Stewart of YHF-MS, who was approximately four seconds slower than
Johnson and submitted a time of 4 minutes and 30.56 seconds. They were followed by Wilcox Jackson of TXLA-ST, who was almost two seconds behind him and reported a time of 4 minutes and 32.66.
Moments later, Daniel Graviss of FCST-GU occupied the fourth fastest spot of the eight-lap race, as he posted a time of 4 minutes and 35.71 seconds. Kyle Sockwell of GOLD-ST and Lam S Lewis of MTRO-NT followed Graviss on the concluding wall as the fifth
and sixth fastest swimmers, by submitting a time of 4:39.70 and 4:42.43 minutes, respectively. Austin D Vacek of KATY-GU managed to finish his swim in the seventh fastest place, by touching the wall in 4 minutes and 43.10 seconds. Ryan D Massey of PACK-GU
was the last swimmer to finish his swim, as he ended his race in 4 minutes and 46.40 seconds.
In the 50m back-stroke event, Wenzler of UN-ST out-touched his closest competitor, Niki Denisyako of AGS-GU, with a difference of just 0.01 seconds to earn the gold medal. Wenzler clocked a time of 26.95 seconds as compared to 26.96 seconds of Denisyako,
to claim the title of the event. They were followed by Denisyako’s team-member, John M Ariens, who was the third fastest swimmer of the race, as he clocked a time of 27.52 seconds for the bronze medal.
Joshua D Bagby of FAST-NT secured fourth position in the one-lap race, by touching the wall in 28.37 seconds. He was only 0.02 seconds quicker than his subsequent swimmer, Alex T Pujol of DADS-GU, who came fifth in 28.39 seconds. Charlie Keller of AAAA-ST
was 0.09 seconds slower, as he finished fifth in 28.48 seconds. Brett Pinfold of FCST-GU and Ryan A Koops of AAAA-ST were the last two swimmers of the back-stroke swim, as they completed their sprints in 28.59 and 28.69 seconds, for the seventh and eighth
positions, respectively.
The session ended after the phenomenal swims of podium finishers, while the arena appreciated the energetic efforts of all participants.
