Why are people doing the whole " Leigh " spelling thing? I find it one of the annoying trends that are with name right now. I think it just adds on more letters and gets misspelled alot. I kind of think it is a failed attempted to be fancy.

just asking why people spell there kids name with Leigh?

not talking down to people with those name.

  1. I do not get that either

My daughter is Hayley, she has three friends name Hailey, Hayley and Hayliegh.  I know two girls name Kaylee and Kaelee

I agree with Leigh be odd

  2. Because Hayley, Kayley, Ryley, Miley, Kylie, Brinley, etc. are all kind of trendy right now. Everyone has those names, so in order to make them a little more unique, people come up with crazy spellings. Leigh on its own is actually really pretty, especially as a middle name.

  3. You know what else gets misspelled a lot?

"alot" (not a word, it's two words: a lot)

    "ect" (it's etc)

"there" (there are three different ways to spell it, learn please)

  4. My daughter's name is AnaLeigh. She is named after my mother, whose middle name is Leigh (which traditionally is the female version of Lee).

Why would I spell it with an LEE if she is named after someone that spells it LEIGH?

  5. probably because they like it or are trying to make the name sound more "unique" without being unique.

  6. I have a friend that named her little girl Rayleigh it that is because her dads name is Raymond and her boyfriends name is Leigh so that is were   that came from.

  7. i think it makes the name for feminine and i like it. it also makes it unique.

  8. It is just a trend.  Maybe next year you will ask why do they use lee or ly at the end.

  9. Yah!

    How bout this!

    Haylee Kaylee.

    Much simpler!

Dont try to be so fancy!

  10. i agree with you. i like the most simple, normal, easy to spell and pronounce names.

i guess people just think it makes the name more unique.

  11. some people just find it as a pretty way to spell certain names. some want common names with less common spellings. its a matter of opinion. my middle name is Leigh, and i absolutely adore it.

  12. yah ive noticed that too

personally, im not too bugged with it

but i like more unique different names rather than my kids having the same name as everyone else

my sons name is sterling zaid, people think its weird but i like it cause hes gonna be the only one in his classes and sports teams with that name.  maybe not in the world or the city but atleast he wont have to be called Ryan T when theres 2 other Ryans in the calss lol

owell, if the parents liek the name they like the name :) all the power to them

    hollyy

  13. I was thinking about the name Hayleigh Marie because my sisters and I are using each others middle names for our first daughters. But I really don't like names with different spellings, I prefer more classic names. I'm probably going to use a name like Elizabeth Marleigh. Like I said, I'm not a fan of different spellings but since it's such a classic first name and it would be the middle name that it more modern/unique, plus it has such a special meaning to me, it's not as big of a deal.

Many people use different spellings because it makes their kids be more "unique", even though it's really up to their personality. It just lets them stand out without people having actually met them,

  14. I think when it started it was something different and something that could be a part of a family name because lee, leigh ect. has been so common for so long.

  15. I know it does kinda look funny but its ok.....my names spelt Kylee!=)

  16. b/c they are making a bad attempt to de different

  17. I really like the name Leigh spelled that way if it stands alone.  Like as a middle name or something.  Other than that I agree with you.
