Hayley Baker clinches Women’s 400m IM title - Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Day two of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships saw several impressive swims in Canberra, Australia, on Sunday, September 18. The final session conducted the Women’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) and Men’s 200m IM races.
Hayley Baker of VIC touched the finishing wall in a time of 4 minutes and 43.06 seconds to win the gold title. In the corresponding swim, Taylor Mckeown of QLD secured silver medal on the podium by posting a stunning time of 4 minutes and 47.25 seconds,
whereas, Tianni Gilmour of QLD earned bronze medal with an amazing mark of 4 minutes and 49.90 seconds.
Bria Throssell of WA finished fourth in a time of 4 minutes and 51.05 seconds, while Laura Crockart of NSW earned fifth spot in a time of 4 minutes and 51.06 seconds. Megan Gianotti of QLD wound up sixth in a time of 4 minutes and 53.63 seconds. Meanwhile,
Eliza Ham of VIC finished seventh in a time of 4 minutes and 55.75 seconds, whereas, Ely Gasparotto of NSW settled in eighth in a time of 5 minutes and 00.03 seconds. Chri Licciardi of VIC wound up ninth in a time of 5 minutes and 01.93 seconds, while Adele
Schultz of WA earned tenth spot in 5 minutes and 04.20 seconds.
In another meet, the Men’s 200m Individual Medley crown was clinched by Ewan Bennett of VIC with a winning mark of 2 minutes and 03.50 seconds. Lennard Bremer of WA earned silver medal in a time of 2 minutes and 04.78 seconds, while Jam Nettlefold of VIC
settled for bronze in 2 minutes and 05.35 seconds. In the corresponding race, Jare Gilliand of QLD was placed fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 06.53 seconds, whereas, Ryan h**e of NSW settled in fifth in a time of 2 minutes and 07.00 seconds.
All the swimmers took a huge round of applause for their scintillating effort from the crowd, and the winners were awarded medals and accolades after the session’s completion.
