Chelsea’s mercurial forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 has gone on to claim that Juan Mata has been the best player for Chelsea this season, and feels that if anyone was to win the PFA player of the year award from the club, then it would have to be the Argentine forward.
The two players have been part of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786’s attacking trident this season, and based on well they have been performing, many feel that they could be amongst the best players to ever play for the team.
Hazard has been nominated for the player of the year award, but he is also potentially in the ranks to claim the PFA young player of the year award as well. He is going to be facing competition from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Benteke-c9056 for that award.
When talking about the PFA Player of the year award, and how it might impact him, the Belgian international is reported to have said: ."In http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 I was voted the best player by other players, which was a big honour"
"It is good for me, but it is not so important. It is very nice to be nominated, but I am just happy to play well this season. But maybe we can win in the Europa League, which would be more important.”
He then admitted that he did not wish to win any awards, since it was all about the team and winning big as a club. He admitted that he was more focused on going on and ending the season in the Champions League spots that are available to the club.
"It is about the team, not individual personal performances. Players want to win trophies, and so the Europa League would be better, and hopefully we can be back in the Champions League next season.”
However, he then went on to insist that if anyone was to win the award then it should probably be Mata, based on how well he went on to play for the club this season.
"Juan is nominated also and he played very well this season, scoring and making assists. For me he has been our best player.”
