Hi I am asking this because I am looking at a 5 acre piece of property that through the front part of the property has huge electrical transmission towers on it. I am curious of any potential health risks and where I can find information on this issue thank you.

  1. There is no proven health risks to living near power lines. They can reduce property values due to restrictions on land use nearby or if they are ugly.

  2. jakeb is right about it looking ugly and that is probably the only drawback to the land.  You know....I finished my electrical apprenticeship in 2001, and in the whole 4 years of school.....not ONE of my instructors ever said anything about powerlines causing health problems and the other thing......if the powerlines emitted something that could potentially hurt someone....I would think that every electrician would drop like flies at early ages cuz we mess with electricity every day of the week.....on average.  Except for a slight twitch every now n then, I aint got no problems....lol.....just kidding.  Seriously, I think your safe......but might want to reconsider ONLY because of scenery issues.....Although SOMEBODY has to live near them......lol.  Hope things are well.
