  1. I fell for the squirrels, no nuts..

How do you s*x a tree??

  2. They are both the same s*x tree.

  3. Well, we have not had much of a summer and it is now autumn.

As anyone will tell you nuts shrink in the cold.

  4. One male and one or more female trees are required, and only females produce nuts.

When they are seedlings, males and females look the same. After a few years, males will start producing catkins (sort of furry, worm-like things, about 2-3" long) late fall. These will hang on the bare branches throughout most of the winter.

If your trees don't produce catkins, then you need to get a male tree. If both of your trees produce catkins, you need to get a female.

I cannot think of any other problem that would prevent nut production.

    Best of luck!
