Hazy Blackeye favourite to win the 480m race at Newcastle
Hazy Blackeye will be the favourite for the 480 metres flat race at Newcastle in England on Saturday, February 25, 2012. The cash prize for winning the grade A3 race is £111.
The bookmakers have awarded Hazy Blackeye with a starting price of 9 to 4 for today’s race. He has not been able to deliver strong results over the past few events and lacks momentum.
Despite that, there is no doubt over the potential of J. Wright’s trained greyhound. His last race at Newcastle proved to be a very good one, as he finished runner up. That will encourage the punters to invest some money on him today.
The white and black coloured dog is the son of Astronomic out of Cyprus Millie and was born in May 2009.
Another greyhound likely to make an impact is, Fane Dollars, trained by D. Spraggon. He took part in a grade A2 event last time, but failed to make an impression, finishing sixth. This class might suite him though, as he has been awarded with a starting
price of 5 to 2 by the bookmakers.
Fane Dollars is the son of Crash out of Posh Sarah and was born in July 2009.
P. Rutherford’s trained dog, Tornaroy Torq, has also got a chance to finish the race in the top three. He has been producing some consistent results in this grade and might end up winning, if he gets a clear run.
Tornaroy Torq’s last run at Newcastle saw him finishing fourth, but he has the potential of doing better than that. He is the son of Flying Penske out of Honcho Breeze and was born in May 2008.
Old Fold Medwell, trained by S. Ray, has been doing a fair job in grade A2 races, but does not seem to be in a winning momentum at the moment. The bettors will be keeping a close look at her run today, as she has the ability to cause an upset.
The blue coloured b***h is the daughter of Hondo Black out of Pond Monique and was born in October 2008.
The least favourite to win the event at Newcastle is, Canny Count. He needs to be at his very best in order to finish in the top three.
Overall, the battle seems to be between the top three runners, but Hazy Blackeye has a decent chance of winning today.
