I just bought the Toshiba HD A30 high def player for my parents for Christmas... to run on there 42" 1080p sharp lcd. I have the hdmi cable and don't have any worries about that, however my dad also wants to get surround sound, the type with wireless speakers. What do I need to make sure the surround sound has to keep the high def picture and get surround sound ?? If this is even possible and if you could recommend a few wireless ones that would work that would be great. 400- 500 dollar range cables not included in price range.

- all in all I need to know if hd player and surround sound will work together, one of those home theaters in a box

- recommendations for ones with wireless rear speakers

  1. Get a HTIB that has and HDMI connector.

Haven't seen any with wireless speakers yet.

  2. The HD-DVD player should have an optical audio out for surround sound. Leave the HDMI hooked to the TV and buy an optical cable to hook to your surround receiver, then go into the DVD setup and change the sound output from HDMI to optical. Then you all set.
