Hdmi cable prob. (hd tv to hd dvd )?

ive got a wharfedale hd tv and a wharfedale hd dvd recorder,when i hook up with hdmi cable i get no signal? leaflet in instructions say need a scart as well?? so hooked one up now works but box pops up saying hdmi copy protected. will only play when switch to scart option on tv

Upconverting DVD players can only upconvert via HDMI.

You don't need the scart.

Make sure your HDTV supports the resolution of the player. For example, if you output at 1080p and your HDTV only supports 720p, there will be no signal!!
