Hdmi cable question????????

well im getting a ps3 soon and will be picking up a hdmi cable so i was wondering is it worth it spending extra for a nice 1.3 hdmi cables or will these work

the first one is 1.3b but it doubt it has those optional features that are available with those types of cables

  1. hdmi means digital, so there can be no data loss when transferring digital signals i.e. 0's and 1's (if there was, u wouldnt get a signal). i was conned into buying an expensive hdmi cable and only later found out the cheap 1 works the same.

    expensive cables are only useful for analogue transmission. where data loss matters


  2. Those will be fine. I exclusively use cheap HDMI cables in my system (I've got about 5 or 6 running between various components) and it's never been a problem. You don't have to worry about the HDMI version as I believe the PS3 uses an older version. Even if you were to worry about it, it wouldn't be a big deal, an HDMI 1.3b cable for example won't necessarily fail on a 1.3b connection, it is just tested and certified to work on that spec.

  3. you are connecting DIGITAL signals, there is no need to buy the over priced cables - in this case, cheap is good! cheaper the better.

  4. assuming if you are running it less than 15 feet, it will work perfectly fine. inspire sell a 1080p version for around 5 bucks
