Question

will it work if i used hdmi throul dvi but on sound settings selected it under av then on display settings put it as hdmi ?

would i get sound from av and picture from hdmi?

answer is no.. it will work with one or the other via your output source for instance if you are trying to connect both dvi and hdmi together only 1 will work from device 1 to TV

If I'm reading you correct, you're using a HDMI DVI cable?  HDMI DVI cables ONLY provide digital video, NO audio.  You need a separate source for audio, such as a toslink optical cable, they are only a few dollars.

Your question is quite confusing. I'm not sure what you are asking ... but it's not a matter of settings.  DVI doesn't carry sound, so while you can connect HDMI and DVI you will only get video. If you use a DVI (or DVI to HDMI) cable you need to carry audio separately on an optical or digital coax cable.

Your question isn't confusing to me.

You can go from DVI to HDMI, since DVI doesn't have sound your av input is the only way.

But can you run HDMI with the av input at the same time? You should, unless the av audio input is disabled. If you have a home theater you can run the sound through the home theater.
