components or adapters are needed to make this situation work.(1) I have a personal pc and would like to use it to access the hdtv for a larger screen capacity (I need reading glasses and figure the larger screen will make reading easier).(2) I have a laptop and would like to use it in conjunction with hdtv for a larger scree, and also for easier reading purposes. ANY ADVICE would be greatly appreciated

  1. Most HDTVs have VGA and HDMI inputs, and those can be used to hook computers up easily. VGA is an analog video input, and is on pretty much every computer ever created, and that will most likely be how you'll hook your computers up. If your computer has a DVI output, then you'll want to use a DVI->HDMI cable to hook up to your TV for an all-digital connection between your computer and TV. Some computers even now have HDMI outputs, but unless you bought yours very recently, then it is unlikely that it will have one.

No matter how you hook it up, you should have no problem using your HDTV as a monitor. Just remember to check your user manual for specifics and remember that if you have a 720p TV, to set your resolution to 1360x768 for the best picture. Enjoy!
