Hdtv going from 720p to 480i tv display difference???

i wanna capture my hd gameplay but the thing im buying outputs in 480i meaning my tv which currently outputs 720p will drop to 480i. What is the difference and will i notice anything??

it will have crappier resolution (bigger pixels)

Trust me, you will notice a HUGE difference. 480i is the lowest display resolution. After that is 480p, 720i, and then 720p. thats a 3 stage difference, and each stage is noticeably different. If im not mistaken, 480i is not HD, but SD (standard definition). Dont by this 'thing' if possible.
