He's alright, isn't he?

Question

I took my hamster out for the first time today for about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. I put his cage on the floor with movie cases around so he couldn't escape with toys on the floor after I did give him as much water as he wanted and as soon as he was done he was put back in the cage, after the water he went to sleep it was only 10:30pm.

he woke up at 8:45.

Another thing is he only drinks his water if i give it to him, but then again he's only two months.

playing makes him tired! And they're rodents and don't need as much sleep as a human. My hamster did know how to use the water bottle either! I just showed it slowly. Most water bottles have a little ball that when pressed drips water. Tap that with your fingers a little and show him how to use it.

he was probably really tired.

hamsters are nocturnal so they usually sleep all day and up @ night.
