  1. Here is how He Kexin of China and Olympic all-around champion Nastia Liukin finished with the same score on the uneven bars but different medals:

WHERE IT STARTS: Liukin and He each scored a 16.725. They had identical 7.7 start values (the measure of a routine’s difficulty) and 9.025 execution scores. The execution mark is based on the perfect 10.0 scale, and is arrived at by tossing out the highest and lowest of the six judges’ marks, and averaging the remaining four.

THE FIRST TIE-BREAK: The four deductions that counted are added together and averaged. He and Liukin were still tied.

THE SECOND TIE-BREAK: The three-lowest deductions are added together and averaged. He had .933 in deductions and Liukin had .966, meaning He had .033 less in deductions—and was declared the winner.

Besides, I am quite surprise that Nastia's A's mark is 7.7. Compare with China's player, her performance are lacking of flying movement.

Anyway, don't worry, Shawn must beat China team at Parallel bar.

  2. I think it was unfair. He Kexin made more mistakes and tied with Nastia who made fewer mistakes and did a clearly better job. I feel that Nastia was robbed of her medal and deserves the gold. The judges are favoring the Chinese, and I think that is why they can make mistakes and still get higher scores, it is very unfair to the other gymnist.

  3. The Australian judge too off a full point for Nastia and 7/10 for He

  4. Yes, the scores were unfair.

Kexin didn't even stick her landing.  Her leg swung over.  If she tipped over any further, I think she would have fallen down.

Plus there were notable s***w-ups during her routine.

Nastia's routine looked much better.  And she stuck her landing.

Nastia deserved the gold here.  No question.

  5. No, it was in accordance to the rules.

  6. He Kexin's errors were a lot more noticeable than Nastia's, so they shouldnt've been tied in the first place.

*The Austrailian judge?  His score wasn't even the lowest given to Nastia.

  7. It wasn't judges, it was a freakin computer!!!!  I think there should be a tie breaker by them both re-doing their routine and averaging their scores.  I feel sorry for Nastia, it makes me so MAD.

  8. No..i heard the australian judge forgot to put in the chiense girl's deductoins.. thts why

  9. To LAUREN SAYS: Colagiuri (AUS judge),awarded He a 9.3 score. Liukin and the Ukraine’s Anastasila Koval were given Colagiuri’s next-highest score, 9.0.

The 0.3 difference was the widest given by any of the six judges to the first six gymnasts.

Hey, i think both of the gymansts did fantastic routines. Liukin perfected the dismount but her legs were also apart and everywhere.

  10. The scores were fair.

The judges didn't make the decision... the tie breaking system was made up by the FIG and was simply put into place.

But it's stupid to break the tie in the first place.  They both should've gotten gold medals.

  11. very unfair!!!

  12. Home cookin for China.

The judging has been a joke in gymnastics.

  13. A mistake, no but bad scores..yes. The Australian judge lowballed Nastias score and the tiebreaker came down to the that. The Australian judge has been given aberrant low scores to Nastia for a long time.

  14. very unfair i dont think its right at all.
