My BP started shedding this morning but its not coming off all at once. Its in pieces. Is that okay? Or do I need to soak him in warm water?

  1. its ok but you can increase the humidity in his tank which should help.

  2. Humidity needs to be increased in his tank. Throughly wet the bedding and change bulbs to a higher wattage to increase the humidity. Make sure he has plenty of fresh water to soak in as well. If some of his skin hasn't come off completely (often on the head), take a wet rag and keep it on his head and gently try to slough off the excess skin.

  3. he's fine for next time when you see that he is going to shed, his eyes become milky just spray it extra good of throw in a moist hide just a cool whip container with some moss in it and his shed will be perfect and they are so cool to look at if you get full sheds. You could also soak him once you know he is going to shed the same time you are going to put the moist hide in.

  4. If your worried make a humid hide with duck weed, and its OK they to shed in pieces sometimes.

  5. Yeah.. Humidity plays a big part in shedding. Getting a bedding that hold some moisture helps, too.

I use Zoo Med Coconut fiber bedding.

You might also need a spray bottle. Just mist the tank 3-4 times per week.

    Hope this helps.
