He came from the future?

Question

I was just told about a guy who alledgedly came back in time and predicted a bunch of things like another Civil War in America, another Depression and a bunch of other things but I can't remember his name.

You are probably refering to Knorge from the year 2055 who doesn't actually travel to our time physically but uses a future technology to focus on the past with gravitational and magnetic flux.  His group inserts hypnotic communications into suitable persons, as long as they give permission, for the purpose of solving a problem that they are dealing with in the year 2055.  At least that is a report that I got from taxigringo's 360 blog.
