He can't be in love, right?

so i'm dealing with a not-so-honest person, right? why would someone be giving you subtle hints for like two years. if a guy's in love, well, love can't wait, right? so he must have some kind of ulterior motive; i know it's silly i'm asking this but i'm young and i gor burnt once; it's hard because if you're an honest and sincere individual you think everyone else is too. thanx

ps) I mean if you're truly passionate about someone, you don't just give them little hints, you make a real and mature move, especially since he knows how I feel. thanx for comments

  1. Maybe he himself is still a bit unsure too but does like you a lot. Perhaps he needs to sort his feelings out in his own head to be sure because he doesn't want you to ever be hurt again. Give him a bit more time, then maybe you could make a move yourself...

  2. ya, that's not love. He has no idea what love is yet. You are right in your p.s.!

  3. I think true love would be willing to wait. If you really love someone, you would want-more than anything else-for them to be happy. If a guy knows that he would just cause unneeded stress and complications in a girl's life by confessing his love, he would wait for the right time.

Also, someone could drop subtle hints because they're shy and are afraid that if they do something bold and sincere, that they'll get rejected.

However, if you don't trust this guy and you suspect that he doesn't really love you, then maybe he's just curious to see how you react. I'm not exactly sure what kind of ulterior motive would be strong enough to last for two years, if he's really not interested.
