He is obsessed with making me happy?

I like being happy, and I can understand why my best guy-friend prefers it when I am happy, I know he likes me as more than a friend and he knows I like him back like that... But he seems to be obsessed with me being happy lol.

Like he puts up with so much rubbish from me and he does so much, ignoring his own feelings, just to keep me happy. I never ask him to, but it makes me feel like I'm using him. His fav song atm is "story of a girl" in which the main lyrics are, "i absolutely love her, when she smiles". Is it normal to be this obsessed with making someone happy?

Well, I dated a girl for two years and we just broke up recently but I honestly felt the same way he does. You're not using him, he just enjoys you and cares about you (so enjoy it, it's not easy to find!) Anyways I don't think there's ANYTHING mentally wrong with him, i'd value that kind of lucky find.
