He opens my mail every time,...Take a next step?

I'm 19 and my dad opens some of my mail(Only my name on them) from certain addresses. He never stopped once I turned 18. I'm 19 now and thinking about how to tell him to quit doing that.

Is it illegal in the state of California what he does? What if I don't like what he does, and what should I do?

Hand him an opened letter addressed personally to him :) Then the conversation will easily evolve to hopefully the right solution.

I'd say grow-up  and move out.

If you are not mature enough to discuss it with him, it maybe rough to live on your own but that's the deal.

I may be illegal to open others mail but good luck in fighting him on it.

or- good for the goose good for the gander- take his mail and open it.

AT the opportune time walk in and drop it in front of him and ask for a truce.

Otherwise talk to him, explain that you be a big girl now and would like to open your own mail & deserve some privacy, it doesn't mean you don't love your Dad to tell him this-- it just means you dislike his behavior-------------------
