But im still happy being engaged!!! probably going to be engaged for 5 years before we get married >:D

  1. Oh, my goodness congrats!! *gives 1000 hugs* What a blessing!!

I haven't gotten married yet (still waitin' for that ring, girl!!)

Oh, my goodness, black-asian babies are some of the most beautiful children!! From the ones I've seen, their skin is such a gorgeous colour and their almond eyes are incredible. I can only dream of what mine will look like (I'm black, he's white/a teeny bit hispanic :])

I truly am happy for you, you're making a wise desicion to wait until you are older, more mature and financially stable. Best of luck in the future!!

  2. Congrats first of all. when my fiance had proposed to me we had been together a year and half and waited another year and a half to get married (his mom was terminally ill that's why we waited). Having money saved up is a good idea. We were both working and I was going to school as well so we had opened a joint savings account that we had put money in (his mom and my parents had the account number as well so they could add money as well). This was our wedding and down payment fund.

as for the wedding reception keep it simple. my husband and I got married at a local park which had a lot of meaning to him the minister is my friend's dad and we had a backyard reception. I also had family members take pictures and made my own bouquets (silk flowers), boutonnieres and center pieces. I had help with the planning (his mom made sure of that). best of luck.

  3. First off congrats sweetheart

And planning a wedding can be hard depending on how big it is and depending on whether or not you have a wedding planner or even help.  My husband had nothing to do with the planning of our reception (we did a JOP wedding) but I understood that that wasn't his forte.

Also, OMG your children are going to be BEAUTIFUL.  I biracial children especially asian and black.  How cute

  4. congrats!!!  first off, black/asian babies are absolutely gorgeous.  i just got married two months ago.  i was 21 and he was 22.  lol we're 22 and 23 now :)  we had been together 3 years (friends for 5), and we spent 9 months planning the wedding.  while family was very cooperative, spouse too, it was very stressful to plan.  so many times i wanted to just elope.  however, in the end, having all of our family there for a big party was the most amazing thing ever.  It was worth all the headaches..all the money, too.  it's hard, but just try to enjoy it.  before you know it, it will be all over and two months have passed..

  5. I'm going to get sooooo many thumbs-down for this.....

First of all, congrats. I'm glad you have a special man in your life who truly loves you. However (and this is where I'll get the thumbs-down), since you both know you won't be getting married for at least 5 more years, why did he propose? I'm not trying to mean or anything, honestly. It's just that the engagement is the time period in which wedding plans are officially made. And since weddings usually only take a year to plan, it's a little redundant to be engaged longer than it takes to plan the wedding. It's great that you're waiting until you're financially stable! A very wise decision! But then, I'm back to my first thought... Like I said, I'm not trying to be mean about this. It's just that if every couple called themselves engaged just because they plan on getting married one day, my boyfriend and I would be engaged. However, we're not planning on getting married for a while and he hasn't popped the question (I know yours has, but this is really just an example) so we're still just dating. Besides, you saying you think you may be too young makes me wonder if the two of you shouldn't date a little while longer.

    Just my two cents...

ADDED: Thank you so much for understanding, whew! I'm glad I could give you some perspective! Also, black and asian babies really are adorable!

  6. It depends on what kind of wedding you want like do you want a big wedding or a small wedding! and if you can't plan your own wedding there's always a wedding planner to help you out with everything and if you don't want a wedding planner you can always have your parents or friends and in-laws to help you!

and planning weddings your own wedding can be stressful that's why you should get a wedding planner. That's good that your waiting to get married instead of just jumping right at it and stay engaged for a while until you have enough money for your wedding in the future

and your future child is going to look so Beautiful! with chinky eyes and curly hair!

  7. Tiger Woods is Black and Asian.

Planning my wedding has been stressful, we come from different cultural back grounds so trying to mesh the two was a challenge, but I managed through extreme organization and one heck of a Maid Oh Honor (god bless my best friend! lol). I didn't want to hire a Wedding Planner because I WANTED the memories, stresses and joys of planning my own wedding. I knew it would be hard, but I am so happy I did it this way.
