HeLp!!! Will these fish get along???

Question

I have had a black skirt tetra and a headlight tail light for a while in a 10 gallon and now i got to tiger barbs. will these fish get along or will there be fin nipping and aggression?

Tiger Barbs tend to be quite the fin nippers, especially in smaller groups...

tiger barbs don't tend to like anyone else except their own kind, so they will probably nip fins. tiger barbs also need to be kept in a school of 6 or more, and tetras should also be kept in a school.

You might be okay for awhile if you had a 55 gallon tank, but that tank is entirely too small.  Those barbs are not going to be able to establish their own territory and will constantly nip at your other fish.  They are very attracted to flashy tails.

No!  Tiger barbs are notorious fin nippers.

You need to get rid of the barbs or the tetras.

Also, the tetras should be in schools of at least 6 each, and your tank is only large enough for one school.  Pick the fish you like best, get some tank mates of the same species, and maybe a catfish or kuhli loach and you're set.
