How soon after treatment can you wash your hair with normal shampoo?

I've done the Lyclear creme rinse 3 days ago.

is it safe to wash my hair normally now?

FYI: I've combed it every morning and night since the treatment and only like 3 or 4 nits came out, now there seems to be nothing showing up on the comb - does it mean i am free of them? thankss

  1. You should be able to shampoo with normal shampoo the next day. It usually takes alot of work to get all the nits out of your hair. Specially if it is long. I recommend using the comb and dipping it into white vinegar then combing your hair with it. The vinegar helps to loosen the nits and get them out easier.

  2. you should be nit free, but one more rinse to be sure, also use tea tree shampoo nits don't like the stuff

  3. you can wash your hair but i would recommend for the next two weeks nit combing with conditioner every 3 days then do it once a week for 6 months,

Have kids who get head lice

  4. You can wash your hair, but if it's the bugs you're worried about they don't wash out.  You must get help to remove any and all of the eggs still stuck to your hair.  This is a long process.  Have patience.  You will probably have to treat your hair one more time.  The instructions are on the label for how soon to do it again.  Good luck!

  5. I'm not sure about that, but if you want to be sure they're gone, use gel. Some people say to use vaseline, but it leaves your hair greasy for days. All you do is, smother your hair in gel (preferably dippity-do) Leave in on for five minutes and then rinse out. Then, once the gel is out, just brush your hair a few times. That way you can be sure that all the knits are gone! Hope I helped! :)

  6. Yes you are probably free from the nits, for now. Those little blighters are always just around the corner and it is a good is idea to use some prevention methods to ensure they never return.

Here are 5 different head lice prevention methods with Tea Tree Oil:

    1. Mix 10 drops of Tea Tree oil in with your shampoo. This makes you totally invisible to the lice as they no longer regard you as human. As transferring to anything other than a human spells certain death, they are not even willing to take the chance. You can also buy Tea Tree shampoo already made but this is more expensive as tea tree oil can be picked up from your local health food store for around $6.

    2. Put your hair up in a tight plait. Lice find it harder to get hold of hair that is well up and out of the way. Mist your hair with water in spray bottle and 10 drops of Tea Tree added. This will help to further repel them.

    3. It is possible to repel them by simulating dirty hair as this makes it hard for the lice to move around or attach their eggs. Gel is one way to simulate a dirty environment without the hair actually being dirty. Mix in a few drops of Tea Tree oil. This will be a double whammy as the lice will not think you are human as well as it being impossible for them to move around or attach their eggs.

    4. Exactly the same goes for girls. Hair spray also simulates a dirty environment very well, making it hard for the lice to get around. Get the kind that comes in a pump bottle that you can add a few drops of Tea Tree to.

    5. You can also get leave in conditioner which will do the same trick again. Add 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil and spray this over a tight plait every day.
