Head and Shoulders sign Minnesota Twins’ Joe Mauer as brand ambassador – MLB News
Minnesota Twins’ Joe Mauer has recently been signed as the new brand ambassador for Head and Shoulders shampoo. He will be a part of the endorsement campaign for the product.
Mauer is an extremely talented player and is well liked by the fans and players of the league. Many companies are looking for players like Mauer to endorse their products due to their large fan following.
Both players and companies have a good working relationship as the tremendous viewership of Major League Baseball allows for the perfect opportunity of product endorsements. This type of relationship is present in all major American sports, as the country
avidly watches sports and follows particular teams and players religiously.
Joe is the second player to be added to the endorsement of Head and Shoulders as Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu also supports the product.
"Sports are a common ground for the people who use our shampoo, and having genuine and likeable star athletes like Joe and Troy can help guys become more aware of the importance of hair care and grooming," said April Anslinger, North America brand manager
of Head & Shoulders at Procter & Gamble.
Recently Mauer promoted the video game, “MLB 11 The Show”. As the fan base is getting younger yearly, many companies look to the clean cut image of sports personalities to pitch their products and make advertisements for them.
Head and Shoulders shampoo has now become the official shampoo of Major League Baseball. This endorsement has been welcomed by MLB as Lou Koskovolis, senior vice president of corporate sales and marketing department, said, "We're thrilled to welcome Head
& Shoulders into the MLB family, and very glad to see them partner with Joe Mauer, one of the most popular players in all of baseball and a perennial All-Star"
The Twins will be happy for their player Mauer. This endorsement also brings a tremendous amount of attention to the team as well as the player. However, the Twins will be hoping that after Mauer is done with all of the advertising campaigns, they can get
back to focusing on Spring Training and the upcoming regular season.
Minnesota will be looking to put in a good performance during the spring workout sessions and build some confidence in the team. The team will be hoping for a good start to their regular season campaign as they have struggled for the past few seasons. It
will be interesting to see how well the Twins do during Spring Training and the regular season. Only time will tell if their hard work during the workout sessions pays off as they prepare to take on some of the top tier teams in the league.
