got up this morning to find my goldfish in this unusual stance. he's on a diagonal angle, slightly head down. he's eaten ok and when i tap the glass he perks up and swims off. is he sick? i'm just about to do a water change but my levels are ok. the nitrates maybe a little high but not toxic. whats wrong? How do i treat. i don't have aqaurium salt or anything like that. if you tell me what to buy i'll go to the fish shop. I do have some minnows so i'll remove them if i have to while i sort out.

  1. .....many times a fantail will simply be floating effortlessly along, grazing the bottom, like it is bored

....maybe add some live plants for the fish to find resting places....along with  the regular water changes
