Head gasket change question?

I'm changing head gaskets on a 96 lt1. Do I have to take the pushrods out, or can I just slide it out all assembled and slide it back in? If I can do that, will I have to worry about resetting the valve lash on the pushrods? If I can do all THAT....do I have to worry about regreasing everything if I didn't pull anything out of the heads? thanks:)

  1. i would remove everything that is not bolted down and label them for location and orientation. if you leave them in place you run the risk of loosing where they are and damaging them on re-installation. you adjust valve lash by adjusting the bolt on the top of the rocker arm.
